Held every year in May, Festimad is the biggest rock festival in Madrid. It is usually located in a park outside the capital where a “mini-city” with camping, bars, restaurants, supermarket and internet facilities is built for this unique occasion. This music event lasts two days (48 hours without break) and gathers every year both well-known and up-and-coming new bands. Internationally famous bands such as Alice in Chains, Deftones, The Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down and Metallica have performed here in the last few years, attracting thousands of people from all over Europe.
